Stoke-on-Trent City Council Chief Executive to get 5k rise

The chief executive of Stoke-on-Trent City Council is to receive a pay rise of £5.400 a year.

The report comes on the day that the City Council sits to make 21 Million cuts to Residents Services and Council Jobs.

Grass Cutting U-Turn

City Councils Environmental Team appears to have done a u-turn on grass cutting pledge. Last year the Environmental Team took the decission not to pick up grass after it had been cut across the City.

But after a number of complaints and Councillors at full council pointed out it was a false economy not to pick the grass up as when residents complaind, street cleaners were having to be sent out, it was decided that as of spring 2011 the grass would once again be picked up after cutting.

But Blurton News has now learnt that residents on Newstead Estate are once again unhappy as since the grass was cut recently it is being left in place. Residents are saying its being walked into their homes and making a mess.

It would appear therefore that yet again the Environmental Team has done yet another U-Turn and is now not picking it up.
